Skopje, June, 22, 2023 – The rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Rilind Ademi, Ph.D. participated in the Scientific Conference of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, where they presented their scientific paper on the subject of “Competitiveness of the Labor Force – A Comparative Analysis between the Republic of North Macedonia and the EU Countries”.
In the scientific paper, Zeqiri and Ademi put emphasis on the level of productivity of the labor force in North Macedonia and the comparison with the average of the EU countries.
They also emphasized that higher productivity is a prerequisite for higher wages. Innovation, the level of education of the majority population, and financial development are among the main factors in the level of labor force productivity.
Due to the relevant variables for these factors, it can be concluded that Macedonia lags in these three segments and, as a result, the labor force productivity is twice lower than the average productivity of the EU member states.
