DEEPENING OF COOPERATION BETWEEN AUSTRIAN EMBASSY AND MTU
Skopje June 26, 2024 – Today, the Ambassador of Austria, H.E. Mr. Martin Pammer, and the Austrian German language teacher, Mr. Besim Alili; the Vice Rectors, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., Lecturer Fati Iseni, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D., as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Lecturer Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D., and the German language teacher, Lecturer Izer Maksuti, Ph.D., welcomed the Ambassador of Austria in RNM, H.E. Mr. Martin Pammer.
During the meeting, the Vice Rectors presented the activities and programs of MTU. They expressed gratitude on behalf of the Rector, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., who is currently on a business trip. Firstly, Vice Rector Fetaji, after welcoming the Ambassador on behalf of MTU, informed him extensively about the eight faculties of MTU and all its study programs. Lecturer Iseni focused on MTU’s achieved results with special emphasis on the realized and ongoing projects of the University. Among other things, he emphasized the Political Science study program, seeking cooperation with Austrian institutions in this field. The Vice Rector for Finance, Lecturer Bela, presented the study programs and the influence of the graduated students on the market in North Macedonia and abroad. He asked for cooperation between universities, employees, and students with similar institutions in Austria.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Lecturer Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D., was mostly concerned with informing the ambassador about the study programs relevant to the Department of German Language and Literature and the Albanian-Macedonian-German Translation Department. He requested the Ambassador’s cooperation in the provision of lecturers in the German language and for the purchase of contemporary and professional literature in the German language for MTU’s Language Laboratory, which is currently under preparation.
The Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Martin Pammer, after thanking for the invitation, emphasized, among other things, that he felt satisfied during his first visit to MTU, as well as because of the opening of the Department of German Language and Literature and the Department of Trilingual Translation. In this way, MTU bears witness to the multiculturalism of North Macedonia, as a basis for coexistence and prosperity. H.E. Pammer promised that after this meeting the cooperation will deepen even more, and proposed specific projects that can be implemented in the future. In the end, the Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Pammer, also promised support for cooperation between the institution Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD) and MTU.
