Skopje, 30 June 2021 – “Mother Teresa” University organized the graduation ceremony of the third-generation students which took place at “Skanderbeg” Square in Skopje.
Among the distinguished guests were the honored foreign diplomats accredited in Skopje, representatives of the academic staff, and parents of the graduates. The Rector of “Mother Teresa” University lecturer Aziz Pollozhani, Ph.D., in his opening address to the students stated that the development of the country can be accelerated by the involvement of the youth potential in higher education; therefore, the higher education in Albanian language will increase this potential and will improve the development of the whole society and country. He added: “I am sure you will remember the beginnings of this University when we were barely 200 people, including 160 students, 30 professors, and 7–8 hired administrators. Today, at the end of your studies, you should feel proud that during these five challenging years, thanks to your perseverance, the hard work and sacrifice of the academic and administrative staff, and thanks to the government support, today we count about 2,500 people, out of which 2,300 are students, 150 professors and about 50 diligent administrators”. In addition to that, the Rector expressed his gratitude to all representatives of the central and local government for their contribution to the establishment and development of MTU.
The guest of honor at the ceremony was the President of the Assembly, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, who claimed that he and the members of the parliament gave their legislative contribution and unreserved support because they believe that the establishment of educational institutions and fostering a competitive spirit among them, is the right way to achieve success and to provide high-potential students.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Arafat Shabani, congratulated the graduates for their success and praised the academic and administrative staff for their tireless work.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Čair, Mr. Visar Ganiu, said that they have supported MTU so far by providing study spaces and sports halls, and they will continue to support the University in the future.
5 students from different faculties were chosen as the best students of the generation: Fisnik Nuhi, Endrina Fejzuli, Emel Aliu, Rilind Kaba, and Besa Xhoni who was also chosen as the best student of the generation.
Since its University establishment in 2016, the University has been developed and enriched with numerous study programs under the leadership of Rector Aziz Pollozhani.
For 5 years the number of students at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the Faculty of Informatics, the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the Faculty of Technological Sciences, and the Faculty of Social Sciences has increased from 200 to over 2,300 students. The growing interest in studying at this university, strengthens the objectives of “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje.
Some other important participants in the ceremony were: Mr. Ali Ahmeti, leader of DUI; Mr. Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Finance; Mr. Blagoj Bočvarski, Minister of Transport; Mr. Artan Grubi, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Political System; Mr. Nazim Bushi, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs; Mr. Ylber Sela, Director of the Agency for Implementation of the Language, and other functionaries.
