Skopje, September 22, 2025 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje is pleased to announce that the idea Coffee Biowaste Peeling Cream – Eco Scrub has been declared the winner in the embryonic ideas category at the national competition “Green Ideas 2025”, where a total of 39 innovative ideas competed.
The winning team from the Faculty of Technological Sciences consists of Assoc. Prof. Zimere Saiti Musliji, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Drita Abazi, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Sani Demiri, Ph.D., who for years have been conducting analyses and research in the field of sustainability and the reuse of bio-waste. The results of these studies were published in scientific papers and have served as the foundation for this innovative idea.
“When you combine laboratory research results with practical application, you get the right outcome,” emphasizes the winning team, highlighting the importance of connecting scientific research, innovation, and practical implementation.
This success stands as a proof of the dedication of the academic staff at MTU to developing sustainable solutions that contribute to environmental protection, the promotion of the circular economy, and the creation of new value for society.
As winners of this competition, the team will represent North Macedonia at the regional “Green Ideas 2025” competition.
