Albania, September 25, 2025 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje and Luigj Gurakuqi University of Shkodër, Albania, have signed an Agreement for Academic Cooperation aimed at strengthening exchanges and joint activities between the professors, students, and staff of both institutions.
MTU Rector, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and the Rector of the University of Shkodër, Lecturer Tonin Gjuraj, Ph.D., signed the agreement with no fixed term, emphasizing their shared commitment to the development of education and scientific research in the region.
The agreement includes academic exchanges and collaboration on joint research and projects, organization of seminars, summer schools, and joint educational activities, exchange of university literature and publications, improvement of staff and administrative skills through exchanges and practical experience, cooperation in university reforms, and integration of international standards. Also, the cooperation is to enable the establishment of joint master’s degree programs, expanding academic opportunities for students of both universities.
At the official signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, MTU Rector, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., was accompanied by Vice-Rectors Assoc. Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D., as well as Mr. Driton Zendeli.
MTU and the University of Shkodër are to review the joint activities annually and ensure that all initiatives are based on reciprocity and mutual benefit.
