With 1,040 Enrolled Students, MTU Expands its Academic Potential and Reinforces its Educational Mission

Skopje, October 1, 2025 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje marked the beginning of the new 2025/2026 academic year with an official ceremony held in front of the university campus, welcoming its tenth generation of students. This year represents a significant milestone for the university, as for the first time the number of enrolled students has reached 1,040, positioning MTU among the fastest-growing universities in the country.

In his opening address, MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of this moment for the academic journey of the new students and presented the university’s four strategic goals for the upcoming academic year: enhancing academic quality, strengthening ties with the labor market, improving university infrastructure, and deepening international cooperation.

The President of the Senate, Assoc. Prof. Olivera Petrovska, Ph.D., highlighted MTU’s mission as an institution where students not only gain professional knowledge, but also develop character, face challenges, and build new friendships and collaborations, all while receiving continuous academic and institutional support.

The Vice-Rector for Education, Assoc. Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D., underlined the historic significance of this academic year with the surpassing of 1,040 new students. He stressed that MTU is a place of knowledge and critical thinking, where prejudices are overcome and a culture of solidarity and cooperation is promoted, positioning the university as a model of modern and inclusive higher education.

After the official program, new students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the academic structures and study programs of their respective faculties. MTU reaffirms its commitment to providing quality education, preparing future professionals, and contributing to both social and academic development in the country and beyond.
