Skopje, October 6, 2025 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., on this day, welcomed in his office the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of North Macedonia, Her Excellency Mrs. Setsuko Kawahara, with whom he held a friendly and constructive meeting.

During the meeting, the MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D. accompanied by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D., and the Secretary General, Mr. Pishtar Luftiu informed H.E. Mrs. Setsuko Kawahara about the latest academic and institutional developments at MTU, with particular emphasis on internationalization processes, intercultural programs, and cooperation initiatives with universities from various parts of the world.

In this context, Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., emphasized the University’s commitment to building new bridges of collaboration with educational and scientific institutions from Japan, particularly in the fields of technology, innovation, education, and culture.

For her part, the Ambassador, H.E. Setsuko Kawahara expressed interest in deepening bilateral relations in the field of higher education and praised the efforts of Mother Teresa University in Skopje for promoting intercultural dialogue and international academic exchange.

The meeting took place in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere, opening new opportunities for strengthening ties between MTU and academic institutions in Japan.
