Skopje, November 2025 – The premises of Mother Teresa University in Skopje hosted the launching of the latest book by MTU professor and author, Full Prof. Sunaj Raimi, Ph.D., titled Postmodern Reflections on Facebook (Përsiatje postmoderniste në Facebook). The event drew a large audience, including academics, researchers, students, and book enthusiasts.
The distinguished speakers who shared their reflections on the book were MTU Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Full Prof. Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D.; poet and professor Sevdail Demiri, Ph.D.; Director of the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians (ITSHKSH), professor Besnik Emini, Ph.D.; and MTU professor Assoc. Prof. Avni Avdiu, Ph.D., who emphasized the literary, philosophical, and social value conveyed through the publication.
In his address, MTU Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., highlighted that the edition is “a book for all of us — a critical mirror of our time and an invitation to reflect on the digital traces we leave and the realities we create.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Full Prof. Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D., acknowledged the depth of the anecdotes and philosophical perspectives of the author, which deliver powerful messages about everyday life.
The Director of the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians (ITSHKSH), professor Besnik Emini, Ph.D., described the author’s style as “unique and bold”, emphasizing the blend of philosophical and sociological reflection with the creative energy of a “rock singer and songwriter.”
The poet and professor Sevdail Demiri, Ph.D., spoke of professor Raimi’s intellectual courage in deconstructing sensitive themes such as politics, inequality, religion, love, and humanity.
MTU professor Assoc. Prof. Avni Avdiu, Ph.D., underscored the originality and distinct voice of the author, who addresses a broad audience of researchers, critics, poets, and passionate readers of the written word.
Towards the conclusion of the event, Full Prof. Sunaj Raimi, Ph.D., thanked the attendees and spoke about the challenges of writing in the era of artificial intelligence, stressing that “the value of the book and the habit of reading must be kept alive at all times.”
The event was moderated by Assist. Prof. Arta Xhelili, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at MTU.
A concluding interactive discussion followed between the author, professors, and students, exchanging views on the impact of social media on contemporary life and the role of literature in the digital age. The debate was marked by Q&A, bold ideas, and a strong academic spirit, further enriching the significance of the book launched.
