Statute of the Faculty of Human Sciences
Mission and vision
The mission of the Faculty of Human Sciences is to educate highly qualified and professionally competent staff in the field of humanities, with the aim of acquiring and advancing the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for scientific research, teaching, cultural, and socially engaged activities. The Faculty seeks to foster critical thinking, an analytical approach, and interdisciplinary understanding among students through the application of contemporary scientific and pedagogical methods.
The Faculty of Human Sciences is committed to the development and enhancement of scientific research, as well as to the organization of and participation in symposia, scientific conferences, seminars, and other academic and cultural activities. It also promotes cooperation with related higher education, scientific, and cultural institutions at the national and international levels. Particular attention is devoted to nurturing humanistic values, cultural identity, and ethical principles in education and science.
The vision of the Faculty of Human Sciences is to become a modern and recognizable academic center for education and research in the humanities, contributing to societal development, the advancement of culture, and the strengthening of democratic and civilizational values. The Faculty aspires to educate professionals prepared for active engagement in contemporary social processes at both national and international levels, through dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of knowledge with the global academic community.
Our faculty, and by extension the university as a whole, represents a significant contribution to higher education in the capital, Skopje and the region. As a Faculty of Human Sciences, with departments of English and German Studies and with the goal of establishing an additional Center for Foreign Languages, our faculty provides language instruction for the entire university, both in world languages and in the languages of North Macedonia and neighboring countries. Furthermore, the faculty enables the university to strengthen international communication, internationalization, and mobility, particularly with English-speaking countries through English, worldwide as a lingua franca, and with German-speaking countries through the provision and study of German.
