Skopje, May 14, 2026 – Today, in the premises of the rector’s office, the Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., held an official meeting with the First Deputy Prime Ministerof the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, and Minister for European Affairs, Bekim Sali, Ph.D.
At the meeting, MTU Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., was accompanied by the team of vice-rectors of MTU, i.e., Full Prof. Sani Demiri, Ph.D.; Full Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D.; and Assoc. Prof. Buajamin Bela, Ph.D. The First Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Bekim Sali, was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Driton Sulejmani, advisor Mr. Sahmedin Sali, and Mr. Afan Elezi.
During the meeting, the parties addressed the progress of the educational process at Mother Teresa University in Skopje, the challenges of institutional consolidation, and the importance of cooperation between the executive branch and the academic sphere in the context of European integration and improving the quality of higher education.
MTU Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., expressed gratitude to the government delegation for their continuous support to our university, emphasizing that MTU remains an important center for preparing professionals who are to directly contribute to the country’s development and integration processes.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Sali, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Sulejmani, expressed their willingness to support the university’s strategic projects, with a special focus on improving study conditions and advancing scientific research activities.
Following the official meeting, the agenda continued with an open panel discussion, attended by government representatives, academic staff, and students. During the panel, opinions and concrete ideas were exchanged regarding the role of educational institutions in the country’s integration processes, as well as new opportunities for cooperation between the public sector and Mother Teresa University in Skopje.
