Skopje, 21 May 2021- Today “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje organized a meeting, in which the topic of discussion was the possibilities offered by the use of ‘Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality’ technology, and the benefits that this technology has in industry, business and education sectors. This meeting was organized within the ERASMUS VTECH project, and the participants were representatives of ten universities from the region as well as industry representatives.

The rector of “Mother Teresa” University, Lecturer Aziz Pollozhani Ph.D., in the welcome speech expressed his satisfaction about the fact that this important meeting takes place at a time when the university is celebrating its jubilee, 5 years since its establishment. Moreover, Pollozhani added that technological development and innovation have revolutionized our lives and have had a great social impact, especially in the educational system. He claimed that nowadays students will be better prepared thanks to the rapid development of modern industry.

The organizer of the meeting ‘Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality’ is the pro-rector for science at MTU, Bekim Fetaji Ph.D.

The meeting was held on the premises of “Mother Teresa” University with physical and online presence, while the number of the participants was limited in accordance with the protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The topics that were discussed at the meeting were: the debate on the advantages of VR/AR and their implementation and its impact on industry, in the present and future, not all companies work on VR project today, but how will be the situation tomorrow? What are the opportunities for using VR, what are the opportunities of universities and the use of VR for educational purposes, what are the opportunities for using VR/AR in industry, and issues related to the ways of facilitating the lives of citizens?

Besides “Mother Teresa” University, at the meeting participated other universities as well, such as: Aleksandër Moisiu University in Durrës, European University of Tirana, Polis University, Epoka University, University of Prishtina, UBT University, SEEU Tetovo, Tartu University, University of Logji, University of Ljubljana and numerous companies from the industrial sector.
