𝐒kopje, 𝟎𝟐.𝟎𝟓.𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 – Today, the Deputy Auditor General, Mr. Orhan Ademi, held a lecture about the audit process to the students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the Dean of the Faculty, Neritan Turkeshi Ph.D., Pro-Rector for Finance and Strategic Investments, Bujamin Bela Ph.D., and lecturer Bukurie Imeri Jusufi.
The Deputy Auditor General, Mr. Orhan Ademi informed the economics students why the SAO was established and its activities.
Ademi said that the State Audit Office was established by a special law in 1997, and has the task of auditing 1,540 state-owned enterprises, of which all enterprises that manage an annual budget over 50 million denars must have an internal audit unit.
The audit of an institution, added Ademi, begins with a meeting between the head of the institution and the audit team. The institution is obliged to provide workspaces for the auditors as well as the Internet, while the audit, depending on its size, is done in cooperation with the internal auditor and usually lasts from two to three months, while the performance audit of a state institution from lasts from 6 months to in 1 year.
In 2021, the state audit body has carried out a total of 68 audits, which resulted in 1170 findings, while 654 recommendations were given.
Ademi said that the State Auditing Office is a member of INTOSAI, the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, which is also the second largest organization in the world, after the United Nations.
