Skopje, March 26, 2026 – The latest scientific publication by Rahim Jashari, Ph.D., entitled “Qasje Teoriko-Metodologjike në Studimin e Koncepteve të Sigurisë dhe Interpretiment e Radikalizmit Islam” / „Теоретско-методолошки пристапи кон проучувањето на безбедносните концепти и толкувањето на исламскиот радикализам“ (“Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to the Study of Security Concepts and the Interpretation of Islamic Radicalism”), was promoted at the premises of Mother Teresa University in Skopje. This comprehensive study, published both in Albanian and Macedonian, represents a significant contribution to the fields of security studies and the sociology of religion.

MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., in his opening remarks, congratulated the author on his intellectual courage and scientific rigor in addressing such a complex and sensitive topic for society, emphasizing that MTU is becoming an important center of knowledge.

Prof. Cane Mojanoski, Ph.D., acting as a reviewer, assessed the work as a substantial theoretical and high-quality study, noting that:

“This is an original scientific research work that offers an epistemological critique of knowledge in the field of security. The author has succeeded in building a bridge between theology, sociology, and security studies, offering a theoretical concept that requires objectivity and profound expertise. The book is to encourage young researchers to develop conceptual frameworks for the complex phenomena of radicalization.”

On the other hand, Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D., highlighted the methodological significance of the book, stating:

“The book by our colleague Jashari represents a deep and balanced analysis that avoids stereotypes. The author does not treat religion as a solely negative factor, but as a complex phenomenon that can also contribute to peacebuilding. The use of ‘triangulation’ as a research approach—combining quantitative and qualitative methods—makes this study particularly robust. It is but an essential guide for second- and third-cycle students.”

The author of the book, Rahim Jashari, Ph.D., himself, emphasized that its publication represents not only a high academic engagement but also a personal commitment to a field that is both complex and sensitive for society. After thanking the panelists for their in-depth analyses, Rahim Jashari, Ph.D., stated:

“The book “Qasje Teoriko-Metodologjike në Studimin e Koncepteve të Sigurisë dhe Interpretiment e Radikalizmit Islam” / „Теоретско-методолошки пристапи кон проучувањето на безбедносните концепти и толкувањето на исламскиот радикализам“ (“Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to the Study of Security Concepts and the Interpretation of Islamic Radicalism”) emerged from a long-standing academic interest in how security concepts are treated in contemporary discourse. I observed that many of these concepts are often used in a general and unclear manner, with no sufficient methodological analysis. This motivated me to develop a more systematized approach, grounded in the scientific method.”

In the role of moderator, Assoc. Prof. Aleksandar Petkovski, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Law, opened the ceremony and coordinated the panel discussions, giving the event a high academic character.

Mr. Jashari’s work is structured into eight chapters and offers a detailed analysis of models of radicalization, with particular emphasis on the context of North Macedonia and the Balkans. The book critiques the insufficient presence of empirical research in previous studies and proposes concrete models for the development of state preventive policies.

The launching of the book brought together representatives of academic community, institutional leaders, and students, opening a scientific debate on the need to foster dialogue and objectivity in addressing the challenges of global security.
