Skopje, December 1, 2022 – Today, Mother Teresa University in Skopje is organizing the International Conference on Sustainable Development – TSD 2022 for the sixth time in a row.
The conference took place with a physical presence and online, and about 60 lecturers from the country and abroad took part.
The conference was opened by the rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., accompanied by the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr. Admirim Aliti, and the organizer of the conference, the Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D.
The topics discussed this year were: the role of technical developments for economic sustainability, sustainable spatial planning in the urbanization context, spatial planning and architecture, sustainable development through innovation and ICT, the impact of modern technologies on sustainable development and sustainability in the social and educational context, in which more than 40 speakers joined. A total of 57 scientific papers were published at the conference.
The Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., welcomed the conference’s participants while emphasizing that economic stability, overcoming the current crisis, and economic growth must be based on innovation, human resources, and digitization.
The Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr. Admirim Aliti emphasized that sustainable development is no longer a matter of choice, yet an imperative in conditions where economic and social development and environmental protection are interdependent and represent necessary components of sustainable development. It is also a concept that allows taking responsibility for the quality of its development through the practice of democracy, respect for human rights, and fundamental freedoms that include the right to development, transparent and responsible management in all sectors of society, as well as effective participation of citizens in public life.
Papers presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Development – TSD2022 are to be published in the Southeast European Journal of Sustainable Development – SEEJSD published by MTU.
The conference was organized and moderated for the sixth time in a row by MTU’s Vice-Rector for Science, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D.
MTU’s Rector, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D. thanked the Minister for Information Society and Administration, Mr. Admirim Aliti, as well as the other speakers at the conference for their presence and participation.
