Skopje, October 1, 2024 – In a welcoming atmosphere in front of the university campus, the solemn ceremony of Mother Teresa University in Skopje was celebrated. On this day, the 9. generation of new students at the 8 MTU faculties with 30+ study programs were welcomed.

The Rector of MTU, Lector Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., welcomed all the new students and wished them a successful academic year, stressing that “the beginning of the academic journey is an exciting and challenging moment. You are opening the doors to a new world of opportunities, and the responsibility to take advantage of these opportunities is in your hands. There will be great challenges ahead of you, but rest assured that at every step of the way you have the support of the academic staff and the entire university community. I encourage you to embrace this important period of your life with courage, curiosity, and full commitment.”

The First Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Izet Mexhiti, on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year, in his welcome speech to the new students, among other things, stated that “government investments by themselves do not make much of a difference. It is the duty of each of you to learn, to research, to deepen your knowledge, and to improve your skills to the maximum, so that you can proudly and with dignity face the challenges that await you as academic citizens of this country.”

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the RNM, Mr. Lulzim Aliu, wishing the new students a good start to the academic year, emphasized that “through education, one acquires the necessary tools to solve problems and contribute to society. The experience gained at university helps us build character and strengthen our self-esteem, making us more prepared for life. As one continues to develop as individuals, education remains a source of inspiration, opening new doors to career and personal development.”

The president of the senate, Lecturer Zoran Gatsovski, Ph.D., also addressed the attendees and students and wished them good luck in their university studies, wishing that the cooperation between students and lecturers would be as exploratory and interactive as possible in order to achieve a deepening of more original studies during the study process.

After the solemn ceremony, the new students and their lecturers had the opportunity to get to know each other more closely and receive important information about the studies at their respective faculties and departments.

At the beginning of the new academic year 2024/2025, Mother Teresa University in Skopje wishes all current and new students to explore new horizons of knowledge and build the basic foundations for their professional and personal future, to take advantage of every opportunity, always to seek to learn more, and not be afraid to face challenges because successes will be shared and all academic and administrative staff are at their professional service.
