Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., at discussion at formal session and thematic panel at 19. Annual International Meeting of Alb-Shkenca Institute
Skopje, November 1, 2024 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., participated in the 19. Annual International Meeting of the prominent institution, the Alb-Shkenca Institute, to wish the ceremonial opening of the session and thematic panels, where researchers from Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo will discuss the topic “THE ROAD TO INTEGRATION ON ALBANIAN EDUCATION IN THE EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH AREA”.
At the opening of the formal session, Rector Zeqiri, among other things, emphasised that: “This meeting is more than an academic forum; it represents a valuable space for building bridges of cooperation between Albanian and international experts, researchers, and professionals, which has constantly served as a platform for sharing knowledge and progress in the field of science; therefore, this year, the focus will be on identifying and deepening the role of Albanian universities, seeking new ways to profile our higher education institutions, and preparing them for the needs and challenges of the 21. century”.
Rector Zeqiri also emphasised that the internationalisation of research, the improvement of the quality of teaching, and the development of strategic areas are necessary steps that require the commitment and vision of each of us and that Mother Teresa University in Skopje, with all its managerial, academic, and administrative capacities within the framework of the development of science and the improvement of quality, is always at disposal for mutual cooperation.
In the opening speech of the discussion at the formal session, present were Mr. Gentian Zyberi, General President of IASH; Mr. Izet Mexhiti, First Deputy President of the Government of Macedonia and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning; Mr. Visar Ganiu, Mayor of Chair Municipality; Ms. Arbërie Nagavci, Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation in Kosovo; and Mr. Ardian Maçi, Head of IASH branch in Albania.
At the thematic panel, the Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., presented his scientific research on the topic “Challenges in Higher Education: A Comparative Analysis of North Macedonia and Kosovo”.
During the presentations, among others, other lecturers, such as Bujamin Bela, Bukurie I. Jusufi, Mustafa Ibrahimi, Izer Maksuti, Arbresh Raveni, and Blerta Kondri, also presented their scientific research to the audience.
Together with the organisers, the Alb-Shkenca Institute, the Government of North Macedonia, and the Municipality of Chair, Mother Teresa University in Skopje is also the host of the 19. Annual International Meeting of the prominent institution Alb-Shkenca Institute, where thematic panels will be held at the university premises.
