The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D., has been selected as an expert to represent North Macedonia in the development of the Guidelines implementing The Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) for Education and Sustainable Development (ESD), a project led by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

The first working group of experts took place in the House of Europe in Strasbourg, France, on November 21, 2023. At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D., participated in the working group and shared information on RFCDC and ESD, and presented several good practical examples of education and sustainable development in the context of North Macedonia.

The project started in 2023 and is to end in 2025 with the possibility of an extension. The project’s working group consists of education experts from 19 member states and monitoring organizations. The project was initiated and is to be led by the Department of Education at the Council of Europe.
