Skopje, February 17, 2025 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje and Idrizovo Penitentiary-Correctional Facility signed a Memorandum of Cooperation due to the need for mutual interest in improving the quality of education, training, and upbringing.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., and the Director of Idrizovo Penitentiary-Correctional Facility, Mr. Boban Utkovski.

At the meeting, Rector Zeqiri was accompanied by Vice-Rectors Lecturer Blerim Saiti, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D., and Director, Mr. Boban Utkovski, was accompanied by his deputy, Mr. Afrim Idrizi. At the meeting, they were presented with the latest progress and developments of the University, such as the increase in the number of students, especially at the Faculty of Law, as well as the academic developments that await this educational institution in the next semester, all of which resulted in the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.

The cooperation between MTU and Idrizovo Penitentiary-Correctional Facility in Skopje is to incorporate the exchange of scientific and professional experiences and knowledge, providing expert opinions regarding the execution of sanctions and the manner of treating convicted persons, cooperation and mutual support in the organization and implementation of professional and scientific conferences, seminars, round tables, workshops, summer schools, and conducting study visits for MTU students in the Idrizovo Facility, as well as other forms of cooperation that are to be decided by both institutions.

Cooperation in the implementation of this Memorandum is to be based on transparency, the principle of respect, understanding, and open dialogue.
