Introduction to Programming and Web Programming by Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., bridge between theory and practice for computer science students

Skopje, November 11, 2025 – In an academic and ceremonial atmosphere at Mother Teresa University in Skopje, in front of an audience comprised of MTU’s academic and administrative staff, as well as students, two university textbooks authored by the Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, FullProf. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., titled Introduction to Programming and Web Programming, were launched.

The two editions represent a significant contribution to academic literature of technical sciences in the Albanian language, offering a strong theoretical foundation combined with a practical approach for students in the field of informatics.

The ceremony was moderated by Asst. Prof. Genta Spahiu Mirzo, Ph.D., who, in her opening remarks, emphasized the importance of textbooks in one’s mother tongue, describing them as “monuments of the Albanian intellect, bridges between tradition and modernity, and investments in our shared future.”

In his address, Assoc. Prof. Artan Dermaku, Ph.D., Rector of Kadri Zeka University of Gjilan and reviewer of Introduction to Programming, highly praised the contribution of this work to the enrichment of academic literature in Albanian, emphasizing that:

“This book is a model university textbook—an excellent combination of theory and practice that serves students at all levels. Its contribution to the limited corpus of academic literature of the technical sciences in the Albanian language is truly remarkable.”

He added that the book fills in an important gap in higher education by providing a practical approach that enables students develop real-world competencies in the C++ programming language.

Later on, Full Prof. Aleksandar Dimovski, Ph.D., reviewer of both books, emphasized:

“The publications represent a solid academic and practical foundation for students. Web Programming is a comprehensive guide that truly helps students develop professional competencies in modern technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL.”

According to him, the books by the Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, FullProf. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., contribute to raising the quality of teaching and the academic literature within the Albanian academic space.

Continuing the program, Asst. Prof. Majlinda Axhiu, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at MTU, praised the pedagogical approach and clear structure of the materials in her review, stating:
“The book guides readers from basic concepts to advanced web development skills. Each chapter is designed to help students understand and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts.”

At the conclusion of the event, the author himself, MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., addressed the audience, expressing gratitude to the reviewers, academic collaborators, and students for their support. He emphasized that the two books are the result of his dedication to knowledge and education in the Albanian language:

“Writing these books was an act of love-for education, for the Albanian language, and for our students. Every sincere effort, no matter how small, creates a lasting impact.”

Referring to the philosophy of Mother Teresa, MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., added: “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”

The event concluded with a public discussion on the importance of academic literature in the field of the technical sciences in Albanian language and the challenges of digital development in university education.

The launching of the textbooks Introduction to Programming and Web Programming turned into a celebration of knowledge and academic dedication, highlighting the importance of creating high-quality resources in one’s native language and fostering critical thinking in the field of computer science.
