Tirana, June 2026 – As part of the commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing the internationalization of higher education, Mother Teresa University in Skopje and the University of Tirana have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum marks a new chapter in interinstitutional relations, creating opportunities for joint academic and scientific research initiatives.
The signing ceremony, held in Tirana, was attended by the Rector of Mother Teresa University, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and the Rector of the University of Tirana, Full Prof. Artan Hoxha, Ph.D. The event was also attended by H.E. Denion Meidani, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Skopje, who emphasized the importance of this partnership for the Albanian academic community in the region.
This Memorandum of Understanding establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation, including the development of joint study programs and research projects, the organization of conferences, symposiums, and scientific seminars, as well as the exchange of academic staff and students to promote greater mobility. In addition, an active role has been assigned to the MTU’s Student Assembly, whose representatives were part of the official delegation, ensuring that students’ perspectives are incorporated into MTU’s institutional development.
