Mother Teresa University in Skopje took an important step towards modernization and digitization of higher education. Under the direction of the Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Lecturer Majlinda Axhiu, Ph.D., as well as with the support of other members of the academic staff, MTU applied to the prestigious HORIZON program, in cooperation with five partner universities from Europe.
The project aims to achieve two main goals:
💻 Digitization of education: Through the integration of AI and the provision of micro-credentials, the goal is to increase quality and access in higher education.
🌎 Development of a joint master’s program (Joint Degree): This program will focus on the innovative fields of Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing, preparing students for the global labor market.
With the partners of the Consortium, the project brings together the expertise of the following partner universities:

🏢 University of Calabria in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy
🏢 Canadian Institute of Technology in Tirana, Albania
🏢 College for Information Technologies in Zagreb – VSITE, Croatia
The project is under the title of “EIT Advanced Digital Skills #7”, which aims to strengthen education in critical areas of digital technology and encourage collaboration between academic institutions, industry, and research institutes.
This step by MTU represents a significant effort to build international bridges and advance higher education in areas that represent the future of knowledge and technology.
