Skopje, May 14, 2026 – Students from the Faculty of Economics, Customs, Freight Forwarding, and Insurance study program, within Customs Criminal Offences course and under the mentorship of Full Prof. Nasir Etemi, Ph.D., carried out a study visit to the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia.
During the visit, the students were welcomed in an exceptionally friendly and professional meeting by the Deputy Director of the Customs Administration, Mr. Mustafa Dauti, and by Full Prof. Urim Iseini, Ph.D., as well as other field experts. The representatives of the Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia shared detailed information with the students about the organizational structure and the functioning of this vital institution, as well as the front-line strategies in combating customs crime and smuggling.
Key points of the visit included introducing the students to contemporary methods and tactics used for detecting criminal offences and customs violations. Mobile customs teams demonstrated practical field procedures, enabling students to see the application of theoretical knowledge in real-life situations. The visit was also characterized by a dynamic discussion, during which students had the opportunity to ask numerous questions about the challenges of the profession and the operational processes of control.
The visit provided students with practical experience that is to prepare them for the labor market, while also strengthening inter-institutional cooperation with state authorities.
