Skopje, May 29, 2026 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., accompanied by Vice-Rectors Full Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Diturije Ismaili, Ph.D.; and Assoc. Prof. Sani Demiri, Ph.D., welcomed an official high-level German delegation consisting of Ms. Eva Maria Durstewitz-Marschall from the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Berthold Volberg, Ph.D. from GIZ.
The meeting focused on the presentation of strategic project proposals aimed at transforming MTU into an academic bridge between the German-speaking region and the Western Balkans. During the discussion, the MTU management presented cooperation frameworks structured around three main pillars: innovation and artificial intelligence, circular economy, and German studies and internationalization in partnership with German universities.
The parties also discussed the financial instruments available through the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and mechanisms for integrating MTU into international research consortia.
