Skopje, 27.10.2022 – Today ‘Mother Teresa’ University in Skopje celebrated the 6th anniversary of its establishment.

In this event participated the Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Jeton Shaqiri; the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr. Admirim Aliti; also the mayors of the Çair, Saraj and Haracina municipality.

The Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., in his speech emphasized the achievements of the University throughout the years and said that this year MTU set a record in terms of the number of students enrolled, over 700, which means that the two University facilities are filled to full occupancy.

‘We are close to signing the agreement for the renovation of the building in Ilinden that will serve us for the relocation of students to the new premises. Moreover, we are waiting to start the procedure for the construction of the new campus, which is an imposing project and will offer high quality services therefore we need attentive steps from the government in order to achieve our goal’, said Zeqiri.

Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri said that the best investment we can make today is to provide qualitative education, because the progress of the country will depend on how we educate the youth of this country.

‘The Ministry and government will continuously support and help this University because it has a special role and importance in education, which is a prerequisite for progress in every society and family’, said Shaqiri.

The Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr. Admirim Aliti, said that the importance of the establishment of “Mother Teresa” University it’s not only in its role as an institution that affects the processes of social change and development, in creating skilled and professional workforce and in the role of its impact on bringing economic, political, social and cultural transformations in society, but “Mother Teresa” University bases its importance on a more sensitive and essential dimension.

The Mayor of Çairi Municipality, Mr. Visar Ganiu, said that since its foundation, the Municipality has supported this national project with all available opportunities, while appealing to the executive to support the construction of the ‘Mother Teresa’ University campus.

In this ceremony participated the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Florian Qehaja; the Deputy Ambassador of Albania to North Macedonia; the Mayor of Haračina Municipality, Ridvan Ibrahimi.
