Skopje, December 25, 2024 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje solemnly marked its 8. anniversary of its founding and the beginning of its work, awarding 200+ diplomas to students of the 2023 generation who completed their studies at the university.
The solemn ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the academic field, public institutions, and the private sector, including the Mayor of Chair Municipality, Mr. Visar Ganiu; a Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of North Macedonia representative, Mr. Ahmed Qazim; the President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Mendi Qyra; the President of the AXIS Foundation, Mr. Rufat Serifi; the CEO of the Albiz Foundation, Mr. Besir Dernjani; the Executive of Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Durim Zeqiri; as well as representatives of the Board of Directors of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia.
The Rector of MTU, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., in his welcoming speech, highlighted the event as a historic moment for the university. He assessed the achievements so far and highlighted the challenges MTU is to face in the future:
“During 2024, we made important steps towards fulfilling our goals. We have achieved great academic, infrastructural, and international progress. By awarding 200+ diplomas, we celebrated the success of our students, ready to face the challenges of the future,” stated Rector Zeqiri.
He also highlighted future strategic priorities, such as: developing academic and research infrastructure, increasing the quality of education and advancing scientific research, digitizing administrative processes, involving students in decision-making, ensuring stable funding, and strengthening international collaborations.
In his speech, the Mayor of the Municipality of Chair, Mr. Visar Ganiu, congratulated MTU on its progress and highlighted the importance of the institution as a center of academic and professional development. He praised MTU’s commitment to promoting diversity and universal values, underlining that the cooperation with the university will continue to deepen.
The President of the MTU Senate, Lecturer Zoran Gacovski, Ph.D., in his welcoming speech, described MTU as a credible and progressive institution, congratulating all graduates on their achievements and encouraging them for further engagement in the scientific and professional field.
The ceremony at the MTU premises was moderated by Professor Ass. Prof. Genta Spahiu Mirzo, M.A., and Ms. Donka Kaziovska.
In honor of the anniversary, the rector and deans of MTU faculties awarded diplomas to the graduates, who are now ready to face the challenges of the labor market.
