Montenegro, April 7, 2025 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Izet Zekiri, Ph.D., accompanied by the newly appointed Rector and Vice-Rector for Science, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and the Vice-Rector for Finance and Investments, Ass. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D., has participated in the 10th Rectors’ Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans at the International Conference of “ULYSSEUS” held at the University of Montenegro.

Within the framework of the forum, discussions have taken place on key issues for higher education in the region and beyond, such as the importance of quality assurance at European and national levels, European degrees, the role of universities in the EU enlargement process, and the activities of working groups, challenges, and benefits of European university alliances.

The International Conference of “ULYSSEUS” aims to create a sustainable platform for cooperation between the universities in the European Union and the Western Balkans, focusing on sharing experiences, practices, and common challenges within the framework of European University Alliances. Moreover, it is also to recognize the diversity of national contexts and institutional capacities of the cooperating parties.

The conference is to close with a policy panel, discussing the role of universities in the process of membership of the Western Balkan countries in the European Union.
