Skopje, April 2, 2025 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Center for Balkan Cooperation LOJA, represented by the Executive Director, Mr. Bujar Luma, as well as with the KURVE Wustrow – Centre for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action in Germany, represented by Mr. Amjad Mitri.
Rector Zeqiri, accompanied by Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D., as well as the project leaders, Assoc. Prof. Enver Abdullahu, Ph.D., and Ass. Prof. Arta Xhelili, Ph.D., thanked the representatives of the Center for Balkan Cooperation LOJA and the KURVE Wustrow – Centre for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action for their maximum dedication and professionalism shown throughout the entire process, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and joint efforts to achieve results.
The partner agreement aims to engage in uniting infrastructure, human resources, and intellectual capacity in order to jointly ensure the sustainability of the project “Anchoring Multicultural Youth Work in University Curricula for Future Teachers” for the 2025–2027 period.
Another objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to develop content and activities dedicated to multicultural education with the special feature of transferring practical skills and competencies necessary for the successful implementation of intercultural projects in schools and communities to enable students and designated staff to attend extracurricular activities, such as trainings, study visits, academic exchanges, mobilities, etc.
Furthermore, research by MTU lecturers, students, and staff members is to be conducted on the premises of MTU in order to support external communication with other partners in North Macedonia, partner universities in the region, foreign institutions, the general public, and other points of cooperation.
