Skopje, August 2025 – The academic staff of Mother Teresa University in Skopje has been enlarged with another doctor of science. At the faculty of civil engineering at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Almir Rushiti from Kumanovo successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Methodology for Fire Risk Assessment in Urban Environments”, earning the title Doctor of Technical Sciences with high distinction.

The doctoral committee consisted of Lecturer Petar Cvetanovski, Ph.D. (Chair); Lecturer Meri Cvetkovska, Ph.D. (Mentor and Member); Lecturer Elena Dumova-Jovanoska, Ph.D. (Member); Lecturer Ana Trombeva Gavriloska, Ph.D. (Member); and Lecturer Mirjana Laban, Ph.D. (External Member from the University of Novi Sad).

The ceremony was attended by family, friends, colleagues, and members of the academic community, including Lecturer Goran Markovski, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering; Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje; and Lecturer Neritan Turkeshi, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences at MTU.

Mr. Rushiti is a lecturer at Mother Teresa University in Skopje, author of numerous papers published in international scientific journals, and recipient of several awards, including the Young Scientist of the Year award.
