Skopje, September 2025 – The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., held a working meeting with the delegation from Istanbul Medeniyet University of Türkiye, led by its Rector, Lecturer Gülfettin Çelik, Ph.D. The meeting was held in the name of academic and scientific collaboration and concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.
The memorandum was signed by Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and Lecturer Gülfettin Çelik, Ph.D, with the aim of strengthening the partnership in the fields of education, scientific research, and the development of joint academic programs.
The Memorandum outlines opportunities for the development of joint research and scientific projects, the exchange of academic and professional experiences, training and internship programs for students and staff, and the advancement of international cooperation to enhance academic capacities.
The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., emphasized that the Memorandum represents a strategic step for Mother Teresa University, offering broader access to international academic networks for both students and staff. On the other hand, Rector of Istanbul Medeniyet University of Türkiye, Lecturer Gülfettin Çelik, Ph.D., described the cooperation as a strong bridge between the two institutions and the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, MTU Rector, Lecturer Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., was accompanied by the Vice-Rectors: Assoc. Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Diturie Ismaili, Ph.D.; Lecturer Zoran Gacovski, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D.; and Mr. Driton Zendeli. The Rector of Istanbul Medeniyet University, Lecturer Gülfettin Çelik Ph.D., was accompanied by Lecturer Faruk Bal, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, and Mr. Sevba Abdula.
With this memorandum, both universities reaffirm their commitment to promoting academic excellence and preparing future generations with contemporary knowledge and competencies, thus contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of education and science.
