Skopje, April 7, 2026 – Today, Mother Teresa University in Skopje marked an important moment in its publishing and scientific research activity by organizing a successful launching of the latest book by its rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., titled: “Shkencat e të dhënave dhe mësimi makinerik me programim në Python” (“Data Science and Machine Learning with Programming in Python”).
The event was attended by academics, students, and representatives of state institutions, turning it into a platform for discussion about the future of technology and the need for professional literature in the Albanian language in the field of artificial intelligence.
At the opening of the event, the author, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., emphasized that the book is the result of seven years of work in the same subject area within the master’s studies at the Faculty of Information Sciences at MTU.
The book aims to address the lack of technological literature in the Albanian language. The Rector pointed out that, beyond coding, the goal of the work is to develop data-driven decision-making skills, transforming the student from a simple user into an active researcher.
As a reviewer, Full Prof. Ivan Chorbev, Ph.D., former dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at UKIM, assessed that the book represents a strategic contribution, building a bridge between statistics, mathematics, and artificial intelligence. He emphasized that the use of Python as a central platform and the treatment of modern libraries make the book a new standard in university literature.
Similarly, Full Prof. Aleksandar Dimovski, Ph.D., focused on the technical complexity of the book, highlighting the clarity with which the author explains advanced algorithms such as neural networks (CNN, RNN), making artificial intelligence theory applicable for students.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Assoc. Prof. Majlinda Axhiu, Ph.D., on behalf of the faculty, expressed sincere congratulations to Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., who within a few months enriched academic literature with three new titles, demonstrating a rare visionary approach and productivity in the service of science. Guided by the principle that the books that lack should be written by ourselves, the professor created the work “Shkencat e të dhënave dhe mësimi makinerik me programim në Python” (“Data Science and Machine Learning with Programming in Python”) as an essential guide that directly responds to the challenges of digital transformation and the urgent need for quality literature in the Albanian language. Through a logical structure that connects Python fundamentals with advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, the book serves as a strong bridge between university theory and the demands of modern industry, offering students the appropriate tools to be competitive in the global market.
The event was moderated with high professionalism by Assoc. Prof. Arta Xhelili, Ph.D., who led the academic panel through scientific discussions on the importance of the book for higher education in the country.
The launching of the book represents a significant step in enriching the Albanian scientific library, positioning Mother Teresa University in Skopje as a key partner in preparing professional staff for the challenges of the digital economy and data science.
