Skopje, April 2026 – Students of the Traffic and Transport Engineering study program at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at Mother Teresa University in Skopje carried out a study visit to the Skopje Traffic Management and Control Center.

The main objective of the activity was to deepen students’ practical knowledge and familiarize them with modern technologies and systems for urban traffic management and control in the city of Skopje. The visit was organized under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Olivera Petrovska, Ph.D., and assistants Jovan Hristoski, M. Sc., and Daniel Pavleski, M.Sc.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to closely observe the functioning of the Skopje Traffic Management and Control Center, including real-time traffic monitoring and management systems, coordination and control of the traffic light system, traffic video surveillance, monitoring and prioritization of public transport vehicles, emergency and escort vehicles, as well as informing road users through variable message signs.

Through professional presentations and practical demonstrations by the center’s staff, key aspects of planning, regulating, and optimizing traffic flows in the capital city were presented.

This study visit represented an important segment of the academic process, enabling students to gain practical experience, direct insight into real working processes, and connect theoretical concepts with their practical application.

MTU expresses sincere gratitude to the management and staff of the Skopje Traffic Management and Control Center for their hospitality and willingness to share their knowledge and professional experience with the students.
