On June 6, 2026, Mother Teresa University in Skopje hosted and welcomed a delegation from the Ionian University (Greece) in Bitola, as part of an inter-university meeting dedicated to the development of academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.

The meeting took place at the Museum of the Albanian Alphabet in Bitola, a site of particular historical and cultural significance for Albanians and the region.

The MTU delegation consisted of the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Full Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D., the Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, Full Prof. Mustafa Ibraimi, Ph.D.; and Full Prof. Izer Maksuti, Ph.D., from the Department of German Language and Literature at MTU. The Ionian University was represented by Full Prof. Ioannis Zelepos, Ph.D.; Full Prof. Ge Yiorgos Tzedopoulos, Ph.D.; and Full Prof. Anna Mandylara, Ph.D., experts in the field of contemporary history.

During the meeting, possibilities for cooperation within the Erasmus+ program, student and faculty exchanges, organization of scientific conferences, summer schools, and joint research projects were discussed.

Participants considered the meeting a significant step toward strengthening inter-university collaboration and building a long-term partnership between Mother Teresa University in Skopje and the Ionian University.

After the official part, the delegations continued their discussions in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, expressing their readiness to concretize joint initiatives and implement them in the future.
