Skopje, August 26, 2026 – As part of the joint commemoration marking the 116th anniversary of the birth and the 10th anniversary of the canonization of Mother Teresa, a delegation from Mother Teresa University in Skopje, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Bekim Fetaji, alongside the leadership of the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians (ITKSHP), laid fresh flower wreaths today at the memorial plaque of the great humanist at “Macedonia” Square in Skopje.

The commemorative activities, held under the motto “Remembering our Gonxha, the Teresa of the entire world,” officially commenced at 10:00 AM, bringing together the academic leadership and university staff.

This solemn ceremony was attended by the Rector of MTU, Prof. Dr. Bekim Fetaji, the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Olivera Petrovska, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Fati Iseni and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bujamin Bela, as well as Donka and Mira Kaziovska.

Following the tributes paid at the memorial plaque on “Macedonia” Square, the solemn commemorative program continued with further academic and cultural activities on the premises of Mother Teresa University in Skopje.
