Skopje, May 2023 – Mr. Ivan Petrov, an employee at Telecom in North Macedonia, held a lecture on “Digitalization, 5G and the future generations of mobile networks” at the Faculty of Informatics at the “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje.

This lecture was organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Stojan Kitanov Ph.D., and the purpose of this lecture was to raise awareness of the opportunities that the use of the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as how to overcome the digital divide.

Moreover, the students had the opportunity to learn about the advantages offered by 5G mobile networks in terms of digitalization and services for users, the implementation of 5G in North Macedonia, and they also reviewed 6G – the next generation of mobile networks.

This lecture was held on May 17 in honor of the anniversary of the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention and the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union, where the UN has declared this date as the World Day of Telecommunications and the information society.
