Skopje, August 26, 2026 – As part of the joint commemoration of the 116th anniversary of the birth and the 10th anniversary of the canonization of Mother Teresa, a delegation from Mother Teresa University in Skopje, led by MTU Rector Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., together with the leadership of the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians (ITSHKSH) in Skopje, today laid wreaths of fresh flowers in front of the memorial plaque dedicated to the great humanitarian at Macedonia Square in Skopje.

The commemorative activities, held under the motto “We Remember Our Gonxhe and Teresa of the Whole World,” officially began at 10:00 a.m., bringing together MTU’s academic leadership and staff.The solemn ceremony was attended by the Rector of MTU, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D.; the President of the Senate, Full Prof. Olivera Petrovska, Ph.D.; Vice-Rectors Full Prof. Fati Iseni, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D.; as well as Ms. Donka Kaziovska and Ms. Mira Kaziovska.

Following the tribute at the memorial plaque at Macedonia Square, the solemn commemorative program continued with further academic and cultural activities at the premises of Mother Teresa University in Skopje.
