Palermo, Nov 3, 2021 Mother Teresa University in Skopje delegation, lecturer Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D., President of the Senate and project manager, accompanied by the vice-rectors lecturer Rizvan Sulejmani, Ph.D. and lecturer Bedri Ademi, Ph. D. as well as the advisor to the rector of MTU Aziz Pollozhani, Ph.D., Bardhyl Tushi, are on a several-day official visit to Palermo, Italy.
On the first day of their visit, the MTU delegation met lecturer Matteo Mandela, Ph.D., and lecturer Gëzim Gurga, Ph.D., lecturer at the University of Palermo.
At the meeting, different views on various issues were exchanged, especially on the topic of cooperation between the University of Palermo and MTU, the language and culture of the Arbëreshë, as well as many other projects.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the city of Palermo’s historical monuments, such as the Cathedral, the Lyceum, the Parliament of Sicily, the Arbëreshë Church in the city center, etc. Tomorrow’s visit shall take place in the Arbëreshë villages.
Lecturer Mustafa Ibrahimi, Ph.D. has done research on the Arbëreshë in Italy for two decades and has written and published books and scientific articles on their language, customs, and history.
