Skopje, April 2026 – Students from the Faculty of Law, enrolled in the Criminology study program, under the guidance of Full Prof. Naser Etemi, Ph.D., carried out a study visit to the Forensic Examination Unit within the Ministry of Interior in Skopje.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to closely observe the complex processes of examination and analysis of materials and traces collected during crime scene investigations or other investigative and procedural actions.

Experts from the unit introduced the students to the laboratories for the examination of papillary traces, fingerprint databases, and personal identification, as well as to the laboratories for detecting biological traces and conducting microscopic and serological analyses. The visit continued with a presentation of the work carried out in the laboratories for toxicology and drugs, analysis of microtraces, mechanoscopic examinations, and motor vehicle inspections, as well as laboratories specialized in firearms, ballistics, fire investigations, and digital forensics.

Throughout the experience, students followed explanations of the experts’ practical work and the application of the most advanced forensic methods, which are crucial for solving criminal cases.

This visit served as an excellent opportunity to align theoretical knowledge with the real challenges of criminal investigations for the needs of the judicial system.
