Skopje, April 2026 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje informs students, academic staff, and the wider public that, as part of its strategy to enhance the quality of education, it has taken concrete steps to implement systematic plagiarism control and detection of the use of AI. The process is to be mandatory for all undergraduate (Bachelor) theses, as well as for Master’s theses.
This institutional engagement is carried out in close cooperation with mentors, who are to play a key role in monitoring and verifying the originality of the papers through advanced technological platforms. This important step comes as a result of the urgent need to preserve research integrity and ensure that each thesis reflects the student’s real abilities and authentic work.
Through this mechanism, MTU aims to ensure meritocracy, i.e., fair evaluation of students who work with dedication and originality; to protect academic ethics—by preventing copying and unauthorized use of generative AI tools without proper citation of sources; and to increase scientific quality—by improving the standard of theses defended within its academic units, bringing them closer to the standards of the most renowned international universities.
Students and academic staff are encouraged to view this initiative as an opportunity to increase the value of the academic degrees. A shared commitment to a plagiarism-free environment is the best investment in the future of the institution and in the professional credibility of every MTU graduate.
