Skopje, September 2, 2026 – Today, at the premises of the Municipality of CHAIR, the Rector of “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje, Prof. Dr. Bekim Fetaji, and the Mayor of the Municipality of CHAIR, Mr. Izet Mexhiti, signed a bilateral memorandum of cooperation, uniting academic knowledge and institutional responsibility in the service of children’s health and proper development.

At the solemn signing ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Bekim Fetaji was accompanied by the Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bujamin Bela, the Secretary General, Dr. Rahim Jashari, Dr. Sedat Baftiu, Mr. Ariton Rama, as well as the President of the University Student Assembly, Besar Sejdiu.

The cooperation between MTU and the Municipality of CHAIR is implemented within the framework of the ” CHAIR in the Rhythm of Health” platform. It aims to organize professional assessments and conduct educational lectures on the prevention of potential spinal deformities among primary school children. With the start of the new academic year, MTU professors and experts will conduct practical and guidance activities regarding proper posture while sitting at school desks, appropriate carrying of school backpacks, and the importance of regular physical activity.

This initiative is positioned as a long-term partnership that places strong emphasis on prevention, health education, and early care before physical disorders emerge in growing children.

The involvement of MTU’s academic staff provides this project with a high degree of professional and institutional credibility, enabling parents and teachers to receive timely expert advice.

During the signing ceremony, it was emphasized that the best investment in health is the one made in a timely manner, while “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje remains committed to placing its scientific and human capacities in direct service to the community and the new generations.
