Skopje, December 16, 2024 – Under the auspices of the University Student Assembly of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, a panel discussion was successfully organized with the First Deputy President of the Government and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Izet Mexhiti, on the topic: “Student and University Affairs”.

The panel was opened by the President of the University Student Assembly, Omer Hebibi, who emphasized: “Student values and ideas should be oriented towards an open dialogue with the responsible institutions, with the intention of achieving goals and addressing student needs.”

The Rector of Mother Teresa University in Skopje, Lecturer Izet Zeqiri, Ph.D., as the host of our temple of knowledge, thanked the attendees for their participation, especially the students who organized the panel, encouraging them to actively engage and solve all the concerns and problems they face.

In his opening remarks, the First Deputy President of the Government and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Mr. Izet Mexhiti, emphasized:

“Your role as students goes beyond the auditorium and exams. You are important partners in building a better society. Students have always represented the avant-garde of the great social changes, as harbingers of revolutions and transformations. Therefore, the voice of students should be heard and respected.”

Mr. Izet Mexhiti shared information about government measures, including vouchers of 250 euros for the purchase of electronic equipment such as phones, computers, or tablets for each student, and support of 10 million euros for young people up to 29 years old, intended for starting new businesses. Each business can benefit from financing of up to 30,000 euros and a capital investment of 35 million euros for the construction of the MTU university campus.

The moderator of the panel discussion was Jeta Qormemeti, a student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, majoring in Customs, Forwarding, and Insurance.

After the introductory speeches, an interactive debate followed, which aroused great interest among the present, creating a useful debate for the exchange of ideas and suggestions.
