Skopje, June 28, 2021 – “Mother Teresa” University in Skopje participated as a co-organizer of the symposium with the University of Vienna and the Goethe University of Germany. The symposium took place online on June 25 and 26, 2021 and was on the topic of “European Islamic Organization and its Knowledge of Education.”
In the introductory speech on “Islam in the European Context”, the rector, lecturer Aziz Pollozhani, Ph.D. greeted the participants, adding: “The Republic of North Macedonia is a multiethnic and multireligious country. In the tradition of its nations, there is an inter-religious harmony and coexistence of the peoples with different ethnic and religious affiliations. In terms of the secular organization of the society, the state supports institutions that educate staff for the main institutions of both religions, Christian and Muslim. “The challenges of interreligious development in a pluralistic and globalizing context are as if preserving the traditional form of cultivating religion as a proven way of social cohesion.”
The symposium was also opened by the High Representative of the Austrian Government. Evidence for the organization of the international symposium shows that MTU has been a hearth of knowledge and science ever since its opening and is on the right track providing students the latest experiences and examples from the neighboring universities in the country, with emphasis on international, including the above-mentioned universities.
