At Mother Teresa University in Skopje, September 19–29, the First Student International Summer School for Architecture and Urbanism took place within the framework of the Sustainable Bio-climatic Revitalization of Abandoned Urban Space (SBRAUS) project, which aims to transform abandoned urban spaces, through bio-climatic and sustainable principles, applied to the selected location, i.e., the Skopje Aqueduct.

The international project was supported by the National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility, i.e., Erasmus+ for higher education, and successfully cooperates with some of the most renowned European faculties in the field of architecture and urbanism, such as IUAV (Venice, Italy), University of Maribor (Slovenia), Hochschule Anhalt (Dessau, Germany), and University of Thessaly (Volos, Greece).

The Mother Teresa University in Skopje organizers of this ambitious project, Lecturer Radmila Tomovska, Ph.D., Ms. Adelina Feiza, and Ms. Fjolla Pustina from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, together with Mr. Ilir Idrizi and Ms. Arta Axhiu Ademi from MTU’s Department of International Relations, created the first international summer school.

Through this successful collaboration and the acquired international expertise, using the best European practices in the area, we as an institution aim to contribute to a sustainable urban discourse through the bio-climatic revitalization of cities, where qualitative public spaces will be essential!
