Skopje, April 3, 2026 – Mother Teresa University in Skopje has become part of an important national initiative to advance innovation and scientific development by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Agency for Innovation Activity, Scientific and Technological Development and Entrepreneurship (INOVA), together with other public universities in the country.
Mother Teresa University in Skopje was represented by its Rector Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., accompanied by MTU’s Vice-Rectors Assoc. Prof. Bujamin Bela, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Sani Demiri, Ph.D., confirming the institution’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between academia, industry, and public institutions.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of high-level institutional representatives, including Macedonia’s Prime Minister, Mr. Hristijan Mickoski. At the ceremony, it was emphasized that investing in education and science is the foundation for long-term development and a sustainable economy. In this context, it was noted that structured cooperation between universities and the innovation sector is essential for creating new opportunities for young people and strengthening the country’s development capacities.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Rector of MTU, Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., and the Director of the Agency, Ms. Daniela Dimovska. The Memorandum foresees the establishment of an integrated approach aimed at: strengthening research work with a practical orientation, supporting innovative ideas and startup development, encouraging entrepreneurship among students and youth, actively involving students in concrete projects in cooperation with the private sector, developing infrastructure and the innovation ecosystem, and expanding participation in international programs and projects funded by the European Union.
The partnership is expected to evolve into a concrete platform for cooperation, where academic knowledge is linked with market needs, creating added value for society and the economy.
