Mother Teresa University in Skopje is pleased to announce the launch of the V-EXCHANGE project – “Virtual Exchange for Global Citizenship and Digital Skills,” funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission under the Virtual Exchange action.

The project is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diturije Ismaili, vice-rector for International Relations at Mother Teresa University, and is implemented in partnership with institutions and organizations from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, and Kosovo, creating a regional framework for digital collaboration and intercultural learning.

V-EXCHANGE responds to the ongoing challenge of limited access to international mobility and digital learning opportunities across the Western Balkans. Many students are unable to participate in traditional exchange programs due to financial, geographical, or social barriers, while gaps in digital skills and online collaboration remain significant. The project addresses these challenges by integrating Virtual Exchange (VE) into higher education and youth programs, offering an inclusive and accessible alternative to physical mobility. Through its activities, V-EXCHANGE will provide Virtual Exchange experiences for over 500 students and train educators and youth workers in modern digital pedagogy. By incorporating AI-based tools, gamification, and digital storytelling, the project enhances engagement while strengthening digital skills, intercultural competence, and active citizenship.

Aligned with Erasmus+ priorities on digital transformation, inclusion, and civic participation, the project will ensure long-term impact by embedding Virtual Exchange into institutional curricula, supported by a Best Practices Guide and a sustainable regional collaboration network.
