Skopje, May 7, 2026 – Today,Mother Teresa University in Skopje opened its doors to hundreds of high school graduates and students as part of its this year’s Open Day and Career Fair. The important event aimed to reduce the gap between academic education and professional reality by offering a unique platform for dialogue between the university, students, and the private sector.

At the official opening ceremony, the Rector of MTU, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D., emphasized that these two activities represent the institutional mission of integrating science with economy.

“The Open Day and Career Day are not parallel activities; they are two activities of the same mission. Our eight faculties are the institutional response to high school graduates’ questions about the future, while cooperation with the private sector is but a guarantee of our students’ success,” stated MTU Rector, Full Prof. Bekim Fetaji, Ph.D.

The fair was organized in close partnership with Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Macedonia, attended by its Acting President, Mr. Nuhi Aliu, and its Executive Director, Mr. Durim Zeqiri. “This is an excellent opportunity for students to become familiar with the real needs of businesses. I encourage the young to be active, and I call on companies to invest in these talents, as they are the future of our economy.”

One of the key highlights of the day was the official launch of MTU’s new Career Center portal, an innovative digital platform serving as a connecting point between students and employers. The portal offers students exclusive job and internship opportunities from leading companies in the country, internship offers aligned with their study profiles, individual career counseling, CV preparation and professional training, direct access to employers, as well as mentoring and skills development programs.

In addition, high school graduates had access to specialized software that, through testing learning styles and individual characteristics, guides them toward five study programs that best match their interests and abilities.
